備忘メモ：「成功とは」

アメリカの思想家、ラルフ・ワルド・エマーソン（Ralph Waldo Emerson）の「成功とは」という名言に出会いました。

印象的だったので、備忘メモとして共有します。

「成功とは」

よく笑うこと

知性ある人々からの尊敬を得ること、
子供たちに好かれること

良い評論家に認められ、
うわべだけの友人の裏切りに耐えること

美しいものを理解し、他人のよいところを見つけること

この世を少しでもよいものにして去ること。
それは、子供の健康や、庭の手入れ、社会問題の改善でもよい

そして、たった一人でもいいから、あなたが生きていてくれて
良かったと思ってくれる人がいるということを知ること

それができたら、人生は成功だったといえる
